A warm bowl of soup on a cool fall day is always welcome, but when DC’s best chefs are behind the delicious dishes, their professional touch turns a simple lunch into a delicacy.
On Wednesday, October 17 from 11:30 – 2:30, the community is invited to choose from a very impressive lunch menu with the works of Chef Pablo of Geppetto Catering, Ben Tabatchnick of Tabatchnick Fine Foods and Seth Brady of Rustik Tavern.
Come taste the Roasted Corn & Potato Chowder with Jalapeños, Harira Soup, Pumpkin Mulligatawny or Succotash Soup at the Capital Area Food Bank’s annual charity event. Everyone is invited to come to the convenient Dupont Circle location to take part in the annual Empty Bowls lunch.
DC foodies return year after year to enjoy a warm lunch thanks to eateries including, Corner Bakery Café, Teaism, Busboys and Poets, Panera Bread, 1st and Fresh Catering, Food & Friends and Windows Catering Company.
Honest Tea provides tasty teas, Safeway brings beverages, and TheBestCookie.com serves up a variety of gourmet cookies.
In addition to the fabulous menu, diners leave with the wonderful sense that they have given back to the community: 100 percent of the proceeds go to the Capital Area Food Bank.
And the warmth doesn’t end there, because everyone gets to bring home their one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted bowl donated by local artists. All at a cost of only $25.
This event is so popular because it brings together experienced chefs, talented artists and members of the community — all of whom want to give back their community.
