The 9th Annual Blue Jeans Ball, a major charity event benefiting the Capital Area Food Bank, arrives Sunday, April 22 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. In a recent WUSA Channel 9 interview with J.C. Hayward, Lynn Brantley, President and CEO of the Capital Area Food Bank, talked about the importance of relieving hunger in the Washington metro region.
The ball combines a serious cause supporting hunger relief and a thoroughly entertaining evening featuring live and silent auctions, a live band and tastings from 31 of the area’s finest area restaurants. The atmosphere promises to be posh, but relaxed with guests wearing denim.
In addition to Brantley, speakers for the evening program will be Greg Ten Eyck, CAFB Board Chair; and Kristen Olson, Chair of the Blue Jeans Ball Host Committee. Mistress of Ceremonies will be Norah O’Donnell, CBS Chief White House correspondent.
Every dollar raised will supply three meals for those less fortunate in the community. If you are interested in attending the Blue Jeans Ball, register here. We look forward to seeing you Sunday. It will be a great time for a worthwhile cause.
