Members from AARP recently stopped by the Capital Area Food Bank to help pack and sort food for their annual day of service. The group, through the AARP foundation, also made a generous $20,000 donation which will help feed thousands of families, children, seniors and individuals struggling to get enough food right here in the Washington metro area.
AARP, which helps people 50 and over, has been a longtime supporter of the food bank. The organization has hosted several summer food drives benefiting the CAFB, which are critical in feeding children when they don’t have access to school meals.
It is because of community partners like AARP that the food bank can continue its work ’til no one is hungry. Thank you AARP.
