He’s back at it. That’s not a bad pun about a generous spine specialist; it’s an invitation.
Five years ago, Dr. Raymond Solano, of Solano Spine and Sport Chiropractic started a food drive and fundraising event for the Capital Area Food Bank.
Till now, the event was held in the three rooms of Dr. Solano’s office, each filled with clients, friends and neighbors supporting their local food bank.
Dr. Solano’s very own tickets to a Redskins game and endless sports memorabilia were part of the silent auction. Dr. Solano’s guests ran from item to item, quietly placing bids on their most desired items.
Each year the fundraiser grows in response to the expanding needs of our neighbors, and this year is bigger than ever! More auction items are up for grabs, more door prizes and more guests. As a result, more food and funds are raised in support of the mission of the Capital Area Food Bank.
This year, Dr. Solano’s annual fundraiser has outgrown his office! It is now up the road at Argia’s Restaurant in Falls Church. Dr. Solano has teamed up with the Falls Church Chamber of Commerce and area businesses to bring exciting door prizes, gift bags and a silent auction. Live music, local celebrities and other fun surprises are planned.
Dr. Solano takes care of athletes from all levels, including professional and Olympians. His patients include athletes representing Major League Soccer, National Football League, USA Beach Volleyball and US Figure Skating.
But it’s his big-league generosity that makes us at the Capital Area Food Bank so grateful.
As many of the food bank’s 700 partner agencies report a tremendous increase in those seeking food assistance, Dr. Solano, his family and the Falls Church Chamber of Commerce are stepping up to help. And you can, too. After voting on Tuesday, November 6, drop by to see what prizes await. Admission is free with a nonperishable food donation or a $10 contribution.
