Through the Building Brighter Futures campaign, we’re building a modern, efficient facility that meets demand in the community today and enables us to better serve our neighbors into the future.
The Capital Area Food Bank has been serving northern Virginia from the same facility for over 30 years. Even before COVID-19’s impacts, our Virginia warehouse was far too small. And during the pandemic, our region experienced dramatic increases in hunger that required us to push the aging warehouse to its extreme limits.
Today, there are still more than 1.2 million people across greater Washington who are facing food insecurity and need help. The needs of our community have changed and grown – and now, we’re doing the same.
